Kismetage
Just wanted to get out into the cyberworld some of the freaky coinky-dinks associated with the expansion of the Rainey family:
The day we spoke with the girls' social worker and lawyer was the due date for the baby we were going to adopt from the local woman we were hooked up with last fall.
We will be meeting our daughters for the first time on July 8, 2005. If that's not significant to you, then know that we were married on that date exactly five years ago. (A sub-reference here: Steve Dangaran, high school youth pastor to many of the folks on this blog, gave me some sage advice when I was a teenager, regarding marriage. He told me that he thought it wise for a couple to me married five years before they have any kids, so they have time to get themselves situated before they bring children into their relationship).
I've already shared this, but that same day we spoke with the lawyer and social worker, we were greeted by the very first hummingbird we've ever seen in our yard, despite five years of trying to attract them.
Emily was born in 1995, the year my life changed dramatically owing to my move to Washington from California. Little did I know as I was traversing I-5 northward that there was a little person coming into being in Colorado, who would change my life dramatically.

God works in wonderful and mysterious ways. It's great to look back and see His fingerprints that were there all along.
