This is the cat who, at best, finds children an annoyance, and at worst, regards them as mobile scratching posts (just ask Nikki). Kat and I both about fell over when Pickett climbed up into Kayla's lap of his own accord, and started purring. She's just got a gift.

He's actually named for Major General George Edward Pickett, Confederate officer during the Civil War and leader of what became known as "Pickett's Charge" at the Battle of Gettysburg. Our previous orange cat was named Sherman, for William Tecumseh Sherman of the Union Army. What can we say? We're history geeks.
