Here Come Tha' Howdy!

I found this the other day while cleaning out the garage. It is a shining example of how I spent my days in college. The note at the bottom (that I ended up cropping out) read "drawn in Fred Masback's English 370B class, CSULB, May 15, 1991. Drawn on desktop originally, copied to paper."
I'm really not sure exactly what would have sparked my decision to merge Howdy Doody with MC Hammer, but it still gives me giggles to this day. Pay close attention to the details - the "Africa" outline necklace (an extremely popular piece of jewelry around Long Beach State in those days), the sparkles on his teeth, his glasses, the way his right foot is raised, and the Mad Magazine-inspired sound effects off to the side. I've gotta say, I'm pretty proud of this one.

Masback, oh my god, I can remember hos he whined his own name, "I'm Dr. Maasbaack." You had to know him.
Keep the adolescent art coming, Mr. Scott Rainey 2.0.
Love you brother.

I do remember this sketch. Man, college was great. All that time to draw. I remember doodling images of what a 'funkiller' would look like in Dr. Hood's History 314 class.
Oh, and Romy, I think hammerpants is one word. If it is not, it should be.
Thanks for sharing this Scott. Lets just keep any pictures of me napping on your couch at the dude pad in the private domain.
lol! I know you've showed this to me before. It's so classic. :)
