Started out as a comment response

I was going to write this as a follow-up to Juliabohemian's comment on my last post, but I figured I'd just write it as its own post. Julia's comment "Who's more popular NOW, Davey?" reminds me of the immortal line from Larry Norman's "Reader's Digest" from the incomparable Only Visiting This Planet:

"Dear John: Who's more popular now? I've been listening to Paul's records, I think he really is dead!"

(accourse, Larry's referring to the whole "the Beatles are more popular than Jesus" debacle that John Lennon stepped into shortly after their American debut, and further references the whole "Paul is dead" rumor that captivated Beatles fans from the time of the Revolver album until, oh, today).

Which brings up the fact that I've got fifth row floor seats to see the (presumably not dead) Sir Paul McCartney at the Rose Garden in Portland on Friday night. Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, y'all.

So cool! I've been seeing that flash on the marquee sign every time I'm down by Lloyd center. Hope you have a great time... I, on the other hand, will avoid the Rose Garden and it's parking hell like the plague that night. :)
