The Prince of &#^%$! Darkness

Isn't it funny how you can know a song for years, yet never really listen to it? That happened to me tonight. I've got my mp3 player on "shuffle all," and I just got to Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train." Now, I've known this song for years - I've always found his "ALL ABOARD! HA HA HA HA HA!" followed by the much-parodied "ai-ai-ai-ai-ai" sound he makes to be one of the coolest intros to a song ever.

Funny, though, I never really listened to the words very closely, though. Too bad that I didn't - it's actually quite a good song. Here's the lyrics, just in case anyone was wondering what, as the patriarch of the Osbourne clan would say so eloquently, the ^&#%! I'm talking about.

"Crazy Train" - Ozzy Osbourne

Crazy, but that’s how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it’s not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Life’s a bitter shame
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train

I’ve listened to preachers
I’ve listened to fools
I’ve watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you have the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words

Heirs of a cold war
That’s what we’ve become
Inheriting troubles
I’m mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I’m living with something that just isn’t fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and what’s to blame?
I’m going off the rails on a crazy train
