The refrigerator completely conked out yesterday. Our barely five-year-old refrigerator. By the way, SEARS SERVICE SUCKS!!!!! Friggin' dorks said they'd have a repair person out today (Wednesday) between 1 and 5. When they hadn't come, I called them (waiting on hold ten minutes) only to be LIED to (they assured me their service rep had called our house to let Katrina know they wouldn't make it today. Not buyin' it, buddy - she was home all day, we have an answering machine, and our caller ID would have registered them. When I asked to talk to a manager, I got HUNG UP ON!!! After being disconnected once more, I finally found out the only appointment was for between 1 and 5...Thursday. So, another 24 hours, and all our food is ruined. So, NEVER BUY AN APPLIANCE FROM SEARS!!!! THEY SUCK!!!!! This, coming from a person whose kitchen is all Kenmore appliances, and whose garage is almost exclusively Craftsman, and who only puts DieHard batteries in his cars. ARRGH!!!
Our car is in the shop. It has, to use Katrina's term, "a funk" about it. A horrid, petroleum-smelling funk that has the capacity to permeate the entire house when the furnace kicks on. Turns out the hose from the gas tank to the, well, the rest of the car, I guess, began leaking (LEAKING. GASOLINE. GOTTA MATCH? I DO! KABOOM!!!) This leaking gas managed to MELT AWAY the undercoating near it (undercoating being tar, essentially), creating the awful petroleum smell. Oh, and the gas release cable broke. Right as I went to get gas. Just as the car was on fumes. When we bought that Camry, I even remember joking about how much I hated cable-release gas lids that don't have a key lock because, as I often asked, "how do you fill your tank if the cable breaks?" The answer is, you don't.
Katrina is sicker than she's ever been in her life, for more than a week now.
My pinkeye has finally decided to travel over to my left eye. So, no contact lenses until, oh, I don't know, next Monday or so. Yep. Not blind, but everything more than four feet away is kinda fuzzy. Makes catching note passers at school very difficult.
I've been taking my assignments to grade for a ride back and forth to work all week long without getting anything graded.
I'm chaperoning a school dance from 6:00-8:00 on Friday, which really means I'll work from 7:30 until 2:40, then supervise ASB kids and chaperone a dance fomr 2:41 until about 9:00. Don't get me wrong, I love my ASB kids, and I love doing stuff like this...it's just one more thing on my list.
Our family room and kitchen are somewhere in the middle of their third coat of maroon-red paint, and they still needs a fourth coat. I am not in charge of this. In point of fact, I am forbidden from painting anything except the walls above the kitchen cabinets. Something or other about dripping paint on the carpet. Whatever.
That's about it, I guess.

Dude we bought our washer and dryer from Sears and know the pain you speak of. I will never, ever, ever buy another appliance from that miserable company.
