...and dig the big steering wheel-lookin' thing...what's that, a really early mouse?

"The seeds of the future... Who could imagine what we now take for utter granted," I say as I type on my thin, color screen laptop computer, connected to the internet by Wi-Fi, relaxing in my comfy recliner. We have come a long way, baby -- even since the genesis of the 8-track, VHS, CD, DVD, etc. which we witnessed directly growing up.

Scott,

this picture has had me thinking for a couple days. What the heck is that steering wheel thing? Did they just put a bunch of stuff together and say, 'yeah, this is what it will look like?'

And it's amazing how fast computer technolgy has moved compared to most others. Things changed much, much more from 1900 to 1950 than in the latter half of the century. The electric motor, the car and the plane, tv, radio, the telephone in every kitchen. Most of that it still the same in 2004, if a little changed. But the computer...that has changed. And with it video games. I remember being blown away by Pong. Now I look at the games on my son's PS 2 and shake my head. What will it be like in twenty years? Some things just show up, like the ipod, and change everything.
