Sherry, Amanda, I *know* you remember these guys...

But does anybody else remember the Christian band 441 from the mid-eighties? Their big album was "Mourning into Dancing," and, if the sticker on my LP is to be believed, they were voted "Favorite Band" by the listeners of (now defunct) 106.3 KYMS FM in Los Angeles. Perhaps Troy and Ian might recall them as well...

Anyway, I was perusing the messageboards for the band Undercover (yes, they are still around - I sent Troy a zipped file of a song from their most recent effort), and there was a message which read "Where can 441 play?"

The post was from Glenn Holland, who, if I recall correctly, was the guitar player and principal songwriter for the band. He asked if anyone remembered his band, as he and the guys were considering trying to get some gigs. I e-mailed him, and he told me he'd like to put out a compilation CD of their stuff, but would like to know if anyone (other than me, now) actually remembers them.

So, do a nice guy a favor and drop him a line at race223@earthlink.net , and let him know you do remember his band - he seemed to get a real kick out of hearing from a 35-year-old dude who listened to his music during the Reagan era. If you do write, be sure to include "441" in the subject heading, as Earthlink has a pretty serious spam filter.

Dude,

how could I not forget this band? Tooling in Dave Baker's car, rocking out to Fish on Her Car.

Whatever did happen to 1986?

Hey, I was researching my defense to try to get Wikipedia to undelete our 441 article after a Satanist (no joke) had it deleted and found your posting.

We have a website now if you want to go to it, and you can contact us from there.

www.441online.com

We're actually going into the studio in a few months to record a demo of new songs...

Glenn
