Oh, no... not mice again...

Yes, friends 'n' neighbors, it seems we've got our little furry rodents yet again. Our introduction to the 2006 iteration of the infestation came in a rather... bizarre...fashion. I don't know if I can really describe what you'll see in the photo below... just take a look.
Yes, those are our curtains the little critter is peeking out of. Katrina should officially be given a medal for bravery under extreme circumstances for actually removing the panels while the mouse was on top of the pole.
Melly, the champion mouser, eyes her would-be prey from the floor, but is just too fricking fat to jump up and get it.

For those of you who found it just darling that my wife and I don't smash these little vermin under our feet but actually feed them and release them into the wild, you should know that this little acrobatic critter was set free in a field about two miles down the road from our house.

Sheesh, what do I do, live in a barn?

I am so impressed. We have one at our "place of employment" that could use your new rescue service. Maybe the "Rainey Rodent Rescue Service"? Kat- Congratulations! You are a better person than I!

i have a refreshing suggestion for you. i know someone who took peppermint essential oil, soaked cotton balls with it, and placed them in all corners of every room (especially near the places the mice would go in and out).

The little rodents hated it and were nowhere to be seen within a few days.

The downside - your house smells VERY REFRESHING and MINTY. Trust me, it's like living in a wad of gum.

Gee, wad of gum or mouse friendly barn? Sounds like a tough choice.

Seriously funny photos. Your wife deserves some lovely flowers and several choruses of "you are such a wonderful woman!"
