Presenting...our girls!!!

Emily and Nikki (just found out this afternoon it's two k's, not "ck") and Katrina and I went out to dinner tonight. While our first meeting was a bit reserved, the girls seemed to hold nothing back tonight. It was almost like we'd known them all their lives. They were talking and laughing and joking - just having a great time. Here's some pictures. Be jealous - they are indeed the
cutest little girls in the world, hands down. : )
Nikki on the left, Emily on the right. Check out those baby blues!!!

Emily, just loving that hot fudge sundae! This was about when she told us she has read the first three Harry Potter books, and just loves to read. (!!!!!!!)
Please can we have a quarter?

Nikki guiding Emily in for an unsuccessful attempt to get a Precious Moments doll in the crane grabber machine at Denny's. The girls were 0 for 2, but not for a lack of trying hard.

Nikki in the van. That smile melts my heart.
Em in the van, holding some artwork and a brochure for a dinosaur park that she quietly announced from the backseat, "hey, this is a family park!"

We took them back to their foster parents' place, and were given the grand tour of their room, where we both got notes from each of them. Nikki's was addressed "To my parints." (Feel free to cry at any time over that). We also got hugs goodbye from them, something I didn't anticipate getting until much, much later.

More photos tomorrow night!!!

I was thinking of the you and Katrina the other evening as I was listening to the radio and a little gal about 15 years old came on. She wanted to dedicate a song to her parents to let them know how much she loved them. She and h her sisters came to these particular parents when she was five. Whe was adopted by them four years later. The response of the DJ was: these are your angels on earth. Congratulations, Scott and Katrina.

Way to Go Scooter. What a blessing. You and Kat will be great parents. It's so cool I need a jacket. Jeanne and I were just going through our photo albums and looking at our old pictures.
