I just loved that Peter Scolari in "Bosom Buddies"...

...but, whatever became of that costar of his? Turns out that guy, Tom something or other, has a role in Peter's new movie, "The Polar Express." Maybe it'll give that Tom guy's career a good shot in the arm, getting to play in a film with Peter Scolari.

Bosom Buddies is perhaps my favorite sitcom from the very early 80s. I thought Peter Scolari was so cute, but Tom Hanks was just hysterical. My friend Camille and I still quote lines bunches of lines from Bosom Buddies. They were the fodder of our numerous inside jokes in high school ("Thanks, Ruth. Mint donut?")

My favorite episode was the one where they were trapped in the mountain cabin, and the boys are passing the time by whittling pieces of wood. After a time, Henry (Scolari) asks Kip (Hanks) what he's managed to carve. Kip holds up a bent stick and replies, "a snake!" then proceeds to mime it attacking him. Kip then asks Henry what he carved.
"Oh, a sports car," Henry replies, rolling a masterfully carved little wooden car (with spinning wheels, no less) across the table to Kip.

This is totally one of our favorite episodes too. I think the sports car was a "masserati" or something. Tom Hanks showed his ad-lib genius in that scene because I'm pretty sure the snake attack wasn't scripted.
