This hits me 6,000 times harder than it would have a year ago.

We were driving down SR-500 this afternoon when we saw the readerboard above the highway come to life: AMBER ALERT: YELLOW VOLKSWAGEN PAPER LICENSE. Traffic on 500 was growing atrocious, so we cut across the middle of Orchards to get home. When we got here, we heard the chilling news:

A little girl had been snatched off her bicycle at the corner of SR-500 and Gher Road, right near where we were driving, at about 2:45 this afternoon. (We were near there about 2 1/2 hours later). A white male with brown hair had stopped and was talking to the girl, a blonde about ten years old with a long ponytail, blue pants and a tie-dyed shirt, then suddenly snatched her into his yellow, late-model Volkswagen Beetle, and sped off through a red light. Witnesses said the girl looked terrified. As of yet, there is no name, as no one has reported a child missing yet - this child's parents apparently don't know she's missing yet.
