Milestonage

I just clicked on my own blog, and found that my counter (the guitar-adorned one on the right-hand side of the screen, provided by the good folks at Bravenet) is only 25 hits away from 10,000. 10,000 hits on my humble little blog. Wow. I know in the rareified air of the superblogs, 10,000 hits is something they record in a day, or even an hour, not nine months. Still, since this site's humble beginnings back on May 21, 2004, it's cool to think that nearly ten times a thousand times, y'all out there have cared enough to click here and see what I'm thinking about. Many thanks to all of you, especially to my serial commenters, who, through their kind words and accolades, have buoyed (bouyed? Criminy - how d'ya spell it?) me up in many a dark time.

Funny - I just opened a new window to pull up the link for my first post, and I see someone has just viewed my site - 24 hits until 10,000. (And, no, it wasn't me who caused it to tick up one - my site counter doesn't register hits from my computer).

Oh, and on the forbidden topic from some months ago - I'm now averaging almost a buck and a half a day - I'm about an Andrew Jackson away from that first check! Honestly, I really figured the lost, lamented baby Rainey would have been in kindergarten before I saw any cash from this endeavor, but it's looking like I might just get an end-of-the-school-year bonus. So, uh, yeah...as romy pointed out, I can't ask you to click, so I'm not. Umm...yeah.
